Rexburg's Golf Tournament

I realized I never posted about the boys annual golf tournament. It takes place on the Friday before the 4th of July every year. The team consists of 5 players. They have played in the tournament for the past 4 years. They won 3 out of the 4. My uncle Bill, who passed away of cancer, almost a year ago was always a member of the team. The first two years they won. The third year he was to sick to play, and unfortunately they lost. Bill then passed away. This last year, his son, Spencer, joined the team. He took the place of his Dad, and they won the tournament. It was pretty cool. They get their names engraved on a trophy when they win. So now it has Bill's name and his son Spencer. They even wrote an article about him in the Rexburg Standard Journal. I couldn't find the article online, but here is some of what it said.......

"....golf has heart and through the heart of the game Bill's presence was there, cheering on his son, and the rest of his team. Spencer came away a winner yesterday, not because he played great, dressed great or beat up the little white sphere. Spencer won because he chose to do something for someone who couldn't do it for himself. Spencer chose to honor his dad, even though it was just a game of golf. Bill was honored.
Rainy, windy, cloudy, the "sun is not sunny," day still shone bright as a boy and his dad combine their names on an eternal trophy - one much bigger, brighter and taller than the one that stands in the restaurant of Teton Lakes Golf Course."
